Premier Dog Walkers

Questions

The things people ask us most. Anything else, just ask Warren.

How do I make a booking?

Everything runs through our own app, Appy Dog. Register yourself and your dogs, set up a direct debit, then book one-off walks (morning or afternoon) or daycare days, or a recurring order that runs every week until you pause it. Your walker marks each booking complete when your dog is home, and you get a notification.

Which areas do you cover?

Hampstead, West Hampstead, Highgate, Primrose Hill, Belsize Park, Kilburn, Cricklewood, St John’s Wood and Maida Vale for walks and daycare, plus Barnet and Finchley for daycare: NW3, NW6, N6, NW1, NW2, NW8, W9, EN5 and N3. Just outside? Get in touch anyway.

Is there a minimum number of bookings?

Two walks or daycare days a week, on average. We’re flexible week to week as long as it balances out. What doesn’t work is two bookings one week and nothing for a month.

Do you offer a discount for multiple dogs?

No. Walkers are self-employed and paid a percentage of the walk price, so a discount would come straight out of their earnings. Keeping walkers well paid is what keeps them with the same dogs for years.

What’s your cancellation policy?

At least 24 hours’ notice to cancel. And if you need to add a booking at short notice, we’ll always do everything we can to fit it in.

How are your walkers checked and trained?

Every walker is trained personally by Warren and police checked, and holds their own public liability and key holder insurance, on top of full pet business insurance for the whole business.

How do you keep house keys secure?

No key we hold ever has an address on it, only the dog’s name. Walkers look the address up in the app, and outside working hours keys are kept securely at Warren’s house.

Do you walk puppies?

Yes, once they have the all-clear from the vet after their first immunisations. Walks start slower and shorter, and new or nervous dogs are introduced to the group slowly. It’s always the dog’s own choice to jump into the van; we never lift a dog in.

“I brought home a lockdown puppy back in 2021 and was keen to have him socialise from an early age … They contributed in my furry friend having a great start.”★★★★★ Mohsin · Reviews.io
Do you walk in bad weather?

Rain and snow, yes, as normal, as long as it’s safe to drive. On very hot days we use our judgement, often shortening the walk and keeping the group under tree cover.

How do the dogs travel?

Every van is kitted out with crates, so each dog travels securely in its own space. The air conditioning runs right through from the front into the back, so dogs stay cool in summer and warm in winter. Every van also has a Flettner TCX-2 on the roof, a top-of-the-range spinning vent that keeps fresh air moving through and stops it getting humid.

Do dogs need vaccinations and flea and worm treatment?

Yes. Every dog in our care needs to be up to date. They’re all out together in close contact every day.

What happens if my dog is hurt or unwell on a walk?

We let you know straight away and take your dog to your own vet. If we can’t get hold of you, we take them to the nearest vet so they’re seen without delay. It’s also worth telling your pet insurer that you use a dog walker, so your own cover stays valid. Our walkers carry their own insurance too, so both bases are covered.
